C K Dawn – Awethor of Fantasy Novels

This young lady is C K Dawn, another fabulous Awethor who writes Fantasy
novels.  In Awethology Light you will find her short story “A Neophyte’s Tale.”

Tell us a bit about yourself.

Hi! My name’s CK Dawn. I’m a coffee loving gamer girl, Sci-fi enthusiast, and sneaker wearing advocate. I love to snuggle up with my cats and read, but found writing fantasy stories was even better. So with a nudge from my lil’ sis I wrote down my ideas and The Netherwalker Series was formed. In writing, I’ve truly found my bliss. I hope you’ll stay tuned, because there will be a lot more to come in the Netherwalker series. Seriously, things have only just begun.

What brought you to the world of writing?

I’ve always loved to write but until recently my words were only for me to read. My sister loved my stories and encouraged me to publish.

What story have you entered into the Awethology and Why?

I entered A Neophyte’s Tale into Awethology Light. It’s the short story prequel in my Netherwalker Series, and the timing with the Awethors seemed fated with its release so I went for it.

What type of books do you write and do they fulfill your reader’s needs?

I write Young Adult – Urban Fantasy and I hope I fulfil my reader’s needs. Although some are a bit miffed about Cloak of Shadows, book one’s cliff-hanger. But I’m diligently working on books 2 and 3 and they won’t disappoint! More action and the heat level between Lourdie and Temple is going way up. (Ooh La La!)

Here’s the blurb for A Neophyte’s Tale:

Abigail Thorne hears voices. Well, one voice repeating one word over and over again. Soft and sweet with the promise of power, it calls to her. The twelve year old has no idea that the tender little word is a catalyst that serves to reveal a world hidden to most humans. Abbey has yet to discover that following the word’s call to its origin will change the course of her life forever.

Abbey and her mother don’t have much, and depending on the day, sometimes they don’t even have a roof over their heads. She wants more out of life than just wondering where her next meal is. So she shouldn’t be wasting her time daydreaming about going on a selfish quest, should she? Does she have the strength to leave behind what little she has? Will she have the courage to break through the illusions surrounding her and lift the cloak of shadows?

What was your experience with #Awethors group and the Awethology?

It’s been fantastic! The Awethors are so supportive and willing to share knowledge and experiences, there’s nothing quite like it. As for the Awethology? I had the pleasure of proofreading several of the entries and I can honestly say readers are in for a treat! Great stories full of chills and thrills, talented authors banding together, and FREE, it’s a definite must to read!

How do you promote your writing?

I call it S.M.E.A.F’d (Social Media Exhaustion and Fatigue) I am everywhere one can possibly be online to get the word out. I also rarely atm pay for advertisements. So if you see me and my posts online know that it’s all me, I have no PA, hence being smeaf’d 😛 But I love to interact with my fans and readers so come find me and say hello. <3
